“A Story About the Man Behind the Smile”
When I watched Joker, I realized it wasn't just another superhero movie. It was a psychological drama that focused on the person behind one of the most iconic villains ever created.
What makes Joker so special is how it explores the life of Joker before he became the character everyone knows. The movie takes its time to show his loneliness, struggles, and the events that slowly changed his life. Instead of relying on big action scenes, it builds tension through emotion and character development.
One of the biggest reasons the film stands out is the incredible performance by Joaquin Phoenix. He completely transformed into the role, making every expression, laugh, and moment feel believable. His performance is emotional, uncomfortable at times, and impossible to forget.
Visually, the movie is just as impressive. The cinematography, soundtrack, and colour palette create a dark atmosphere that perfectly matches the story. Every scene feels carefully crafted, making the audience feel connected to Arthur Fleck's journey.
Another thing I admire is how the movie doesn't tell a simple story of good versus evil. Instead, it asks difficult questions about loneliness, society, and how people can be shaped by the world around them. That makes Joker feel very different from most comic book movies.
For me, Joker isn't just a film about a famous villain. It's a powerful character study with outstanding acting, incredible filmmaking, and a story that stays with you long after the movie ends.
That's why I consider Joker one of the most memorable films of the last decade.
